Frida Kahlo Art Exhibit
A title sequence for a rare Frida Kahlo exhibit.
The MAC at College of DuPage was hosting a rare U.S. showing of Frida Kahlo’s work, on loan from abroad, and needed a short motion piece to introduce the exhibit.
Frida’s face is one of the most recognized images in art. The intro had to feel fresh and honor her at the same time, without becoming another poster of her portrait.
Before animating anything, I built a mood board and designed key frames, so color and type were settled first. That caught a problem early: the typeface from my mood board felt wrong, so I swapped it for something bolder and more modern that contrasts with her florals instead of competing with them.
A title sequence where each moment flows into the next. Planning up front made every small transition decision faster and more intentional.
